Dear Flo’s Journey Supporters,

Yesterday (or maybe the day before—what even is time?), we announced the launch of three special t-shirts available for purchase. All proceeds will go toward helping kids attend Ramapo for Children’s incredible summer camp experience in 2025.

These t-shirts didn’t just appear out of thin air. A whole crew of generous and talented people helped bring them to life—and each of them shares a unique “flonnection.”

First and foremost, Katelynn Cora has been the heart and engine behind Flo’s Journey. From managing the website, legal and government work, and t-shirt designs, to collaborations with the New York Metropolitan Opera and Ramapo for Children—none of this would exist without her.

As for the designs themselves, two of the shirts were created by Damien Acosta (Katelynn’s cousin on her mom’s side). You’ll probably be able to spot his designs based on their unique style. He’s on Facebook—and likely other platforms the cool kids use—so feel free to reach out and show him some love.

The third shirt was designed by Maurice Hendrix, a former Ramapo counselor who worked alongside Flo for a few years. Maurice is a bit of a mystery wrapped in a great reputation. We don’t know a ton about him (it’s mostly legend and whispers), but what we do know is he designs amazing shirts—both for us and on his own. Also, shout-out to his brother, Leon Hendrix, who Flo and I also had the pleasure of working with. Hi Leon!

Huge thanks also go to Jen Buri Da Cunha, who helped us navigate the entire process of getting shirts made—designing, ordering, shipping, and everything in between. There were so many things we hadn’t thought of until she showed us the ropes—thank goodness she did.

Last but definitely not least, we’re so grateful to Gillian Smith and Mike Gomborone from the Met. They helped us find accurate photos of Flo in Tosca and gave us insight into the opera so we could design the shirts with authenticity and heart.

Yes, it’s “just” three t-shirts—but hours of care, thought, and teamwork went into them. We hope all of that effort helps send at least a few kids—maybe more!—to Ramapo for Children for a summer camp experience in 2025.

Thanks again to everyone who has supported us, financially or otherwise. We appreciate you more than we can say.

With gratitude,The Flo’s Journey Team
